Cooking Covid: Ten Minutes to Sanitize a Mask in the Oven
My neighbor asked me to post this video to demonstrate how and why we are sanitizing our masks in our oven. Here is the WHO article that inspired me to use heat instead of washing. Your many layered mask is intended to trap germs. Once they are in there- you want them DEAD before you wear it again. Washing isn’t a guarantee they are dead, takes longer and tumbling may mechanically damage the fibers. Quicker and easier to bring the entire mask to above 140F in an airtight container. Watch us use our meat thermometer to check how long our oven takes to heat our mask up to 200F.
